The previously popular ESPN app for Xbox 360 has gone the way of the dinosaur -- according to a notice posted on the app (seen above), the ESPN app for Xbox 360 will no longer be available. Previously, the six year-old app could be used to watch live network programming from ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN3, ESPNU, Buzzer Beater and Goal Line -- specifically fan-favorite SportsCenter.

In a statement to Polygon, ESPN insiders cited that popularity of the App has dwindled ever since the launch of Xbox One (which has its own ESPN app). This should come as little surprise -- Xbox One continues to sell strongly and Xbox 360 is an 11 year-old console.

The closure of the ESPN app on Xbox 360 should have no impact on Xbox One's ESPN app, so fans of the feature may find it is time to upgrade. Xbox One is the only traditional game console that has its own ESPN app.
