Etrian Odyssey IV Charts a Course for the Nintendo 3DS

Atlus has revealed Etrian Odyssey IV, sequel to 2010’s well received cult JRPG Etrian Odyssey III for the DS. The reveal comes via an early copy of Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu. Etrian Odyssey IV will introduce a new difficulty setting specially designed for series newcomers. This is a smart move considering the biggest problem people seem to have with the EO games is their unforgiving challenge. Players can switch between beginner and normal difficulty modes at any time. Famitsu also confirms seven jobs in the game, although we only know of four: dancer, swordsman, medic and sniper. Etrian Odyssey IV will hit Japanese store shelves on July 5th, at which point we should hold our breath for an American release.
