Etrian Odyssey X just released for Nintendo 3DS in Japan, and the system's waning lifespan left many wondering whether or not the game would come west. Fortunately, Atlus USA just took to Twitter and revealed that Etrian Odyssey X will, in fact, be heading west next February, though it has received a name change to Etrian Odyssey Nexus.

Not much else is known about this western release at this time. This announcement tweet seems to have gone out early, as neither the website it links to nor the pre-order availability the tweet mentions are available yet. DualShockers will be sure to update you when that information becomes available. In the meantime, you can check out the tweet below, which gives us a glimpse at the game's box art:

If you want to see more about this title, you can check out its Japanese announcement trailer and a batch of art and screenshots. Etrian Odyssey Nexus is already available in Japan, but those of us in the west can expect the game to hit 3DS on February 5, 2019.

UPDATE: Atlus has officially announced the game via a press release as well. The game will be priced at $39.99 and will be available for pre-order at several retailers (soon). Etrian Odyssey Nexus follows a group of explorers who are exploring the archipelago of Lemuria for Princess Persephone. There are 19 different classes, including a new one: Hero. Players will also be able to switch between four difficulty modes, which the developers hope will make the game more friendly to newcomers.

Etrian Odyssey Nexus is also being worked on by some of the series' most famous veteran developers, including Character Designer Yuji Himukai, Monster Designer Shin Nagasawa, and Composer  Yuzo Koshiro. Atlus also reaffirmed that this will be the last Etrian Odyssey game to release on 3DS. You can check out the first screenshots of the western version of Etrian Odyssey Nexus below.
