Roguelike 3D space shooter Everspace will be releasing on the Switch in December. Titled Everspace: Stellar Edition, the base game, the downloadable expansion entitled Encounters, an art book, and the soundtrack will all be packaged in this digital and physical release.

Developer Rockfish Games had the Switch port of their game briefly shown off during Nintendo's surprise indie showcase, which was streamed on Monday morning. The game will be shown off during this year's Gamescom, at Nintendo's "Nindie Area."

With the mobility of the Switch console, Rockfish believes that the platform is a good fit for Everspace, allowing players to have quick gameplay sessions on the go and easily picking up where they left off. The game contains dozens of procedurally-generated levels, with players having to manage their resources and equipment in order to survive numerous combat scenarios.

Previously, Everspace was released on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4—you can read our review on the console version of the game here. Meanwhile, check out some newly released screenshots for the Switch version below.
