You know him as the man behind the music of the Final Fantasy series, a legend among legends, a dedicated composor. Since his beginnings at Square (now Square Enix) in 1986, Nobuo Uematsu has written thousands of tracks for various games and dozens of concert arrangements. Currently he works under the Dog Ear Records label and does freelance composing for Square Enix and Hironobu Sakaguchi's new company, Mistwalker.

But what is it like to work alongside him? Susan Calloway, the official vocalist of the Distant Worlds : Music from Final Fantasy tour, details on her blog what it's like to work with Uematsu and how fellow songwriters perceive his music. "He wants so much for the music to be felt, not just heard," writes Calloway. "Not to mentions that the music he writes is timeless and beautiful."
