Everyone knows Halo as one of the best Xbox game series of all time. The first game of the series, Halo: Combat Evolved, was released in 2001, and the latest one, Halo Infinite, was released in 2021. There have been plenty of developers of Halo games, with 343 Industries being the current one to develop their projects. Finally, after the announcement made years ago, Halo is coming with the first season of its TV series. The action-adventure, drama, and military science fiction series will surely be a treat for the Halo fans.

What Is The New Halo TV Series About?

The game-inspired TV series is developed and written by Kyle Killen and Steven Kane. Amblin Television, 343 Industries, and Showtime Networks are involved in the series production. Paramount Plus is the prime distributor for the series. Season 1 will run for a total of 9 episodes, with each episode being 60 minutes long.

The story of Halo is set in a 26th-century world that's invaded by aliens known as the Covenant. Not much is disclosed about the storyline of the series, but fans will surely encounter something new. Kiki Wolfkill, the Executive producer, said that the series would run in an alternative timeline known as Silver Timeline. She further said that it would be challenging to find the right balance between what fans have experienced and what they are yet to experience. Apart from what you already know and love, we will also try to bring something new and enthralling, she added.

The production for the Halo TV series started a long time back and was set for a release in 2019. At first, Showtime was chosen as the streaming platform for the series, but then it was replaced by Paramount Plus. For quite some time, it wasn't clear if the series would get a season 2 or not. Then in February 2022, it was confirmed that the series was renewed for season 2. David Wiener will work as the executive producer for the second season.

Halo Season 1 release date, episode count and where to watch

The first episode of the series is titled Contact and is set for release on Thursday, March 24th, 2022. Episodes last for an hour each and will get released weekly, with ten episodes in total. The series can be viewed on Paramount+.
