Ex-Call of Duty Developer Unveils New Game, Blood of the Werewolf, "A Brutal White Knuckle Experience"
Thanks to an interview with Nintendo Life [via VG247] Scientifically Proven Entertainment’s Nathaniel McClure–a veteran of Activision and the Call of Duty franchise– has just unveiled SPE’s newest project, Blood of the Werewolf, a game that McClure says is a “brutal white knuckle experience.”
The game puts you in the shoes of Selena, one of the last survivors of a werewolf genocide in Europe that has done away with most of her Wolf Clan. She was able to escape, survive, and even settle down with her werewolf husband, giving birth to a baby boy. But one day she returns home to find her husband murdered and her son missing.
The game is said to take place over a single full moon night, with Selena traveling through a city controlled by three major houses: that of Frankenstein, Jekyll, and Dracula, where she has to defeat all of the obstacles, minions, and bosses thrown her way before finding her son.
Spartacus: Blood and Sand actress Erin Cummings is lending her voice to Selena, while McClure admitted that Castlevania has inspired the design behind the game, especially since Blood of the Werewolf is a supernatural 2D action game, among many other 2D platforming classics, like Mega Man, Metroid, Ninja Gaiden and more. McClure says the game with test you and push your platforming skill, and will give players that “classic swear-inducing experience.”
On the Wii U, the GamePad will offer gamers leaderboards, friend tracking elements, level maps, and “secret area” indicators. Although McClure spoke specifically about the Wii U’s eShop future, Blood of the Werewolf is also set to release on the PSN, PC, and Xbox Live Arcade, although the Wii U eShop edition is the only release confirmed for June.
