According to Overkill's Game Director, David Goldfarb, five DLCs will be released within the coming year for Payday 2. In addition to this exciting news, 505 Games has plans to update the game with free content as well.

In an interview on Joystiq Goldfarb stated,

Payday 2--just like its predecessor Payday: The Heist--is a living thing. We have five DLCs planned together with 505 Games for the coming year

The designer also suggested that modding support could come to Payday 2 down the line by continuing with,

We would love to add support for creating community generated content but in the meantime the team will continue to look into this.

For those who have played the beta will remember the safe house customization options and Cloakers; those will be added at a later date.

The safe house is what we intended it to be at release. Just like Bain says when you enter the safe house for the first time, it's not much at the moment, but give it some time. He's working on it and he'll let us do some decorating soon.

One of the most enjoyable aspects of Payday were the crossover mission. For those who played the game will remember Payday had a mission set in the No Mercy map of Left 4 Dead, which served as prequel to Valve's co-op zombie shooting gallery.

Unfortunately Goldfarb declined to address whether this will happen again in Payday 2,

We can't discuss if we have any crossovers planned right now, but we will let you know when/if that should change.

Payday 2 launched this week digitally and in retail stores.
