Iron’s Galaxy’s Extinction Gets Debut Gameplay Trailer
Decapitate 150-feet tall ogres in high-speed and traversal heavy combat, featuring fully destructible enviroments, in upcoming PS4, Xbox One, and PC game, Extinction.
Divekick and Killer Instinct developer Iron Galaxy and publisher Maximum Games have released the first official gameplay trailer of the former’s brand-new upcoming game, Extinction.
Extinction is said to place emphasis on high-speed traversal around an interactive environment, something its new gameplay trailer highlights. What this means Avil — the protagonist — must move quickly, whether that is alongside buildings or across rooftops if he is to survive.
The trailer also showcases the army of ogres you will be dealing with, which are equipped with their own weapons and armor, requiring Avil to use tactical thinking when approaching them, as well as use the environment to his advantage to quickly eliminate the giants before they destroy everything around them.
For those that don’t know: in Extinction you step into the shoes as one of the world’s last Sentinels, a solider named Avil, who is perhaps the only one equipped with the skills to stop the Ravenii, and encroaching army of bloodthirsty giants standing 150 feet tall, with even more smaller leagues of minions at their command.
Ravenii, who were once thought of as mere legend, have apparently been stopped before by the aforementioned group, the Sentinels, which is where you come into play as one of the last trained in the ways of the ancient order.
The game’s premise is pretty similar to Attack on Titan, which it clearly is inspired by: you have to defend your people from annihilation from giant monsters. Meanwhile, features wise, Extinction is said to feature dynamic side missions, skill-based combat, unique battle scenarios every time, custom battles, a fully destructible environment, and a mode named after the title, which essentially just a horde mode.
Extinction is set to release sometime in early 2018, both at retail and digitally, for $59.99 USD. It will be available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
