F1 2021 Update 1.09 Patch Notes for September 6, 2021
A new minor update for consoles.
F1 2021 received a brand new update today, but it’s not the big traditional update that we all expect.
The F1 2021 servers were out of reach for less than an hour today, which then resulted in a new update on the console version of the game. The update weighs around 200 MB on PS5 and doesn’t change or add anything major.

As the developer has mentioned on the game’s forum, this update was only a backend thing, so you shouldn’t expect any big overhaul or improvement in the game other than improved stability and online performance.
Keep in mind that this update is only available for consoles. So, there would be no downloading files available for PC players.
F1 2021 Update 1.09 Patch Notes for Consoles
- 1.09 is planned to go live across all consoles (not PC) today. As previously mentioned, this update is to further improve backend functionality, with 1.10 being the next planned traditional patch
The developer recently promised that there are some exciting things about update 1.10, the next update, but didn’t specify anything about it.
While update 1.10 doesn’t have an exact release date yet, it might actually come out later this month along with a stats update for drivers.
The last time that the game received a stats update was based on the results until the Hungarian GP, including the first 11 races of the season. After that, we have both Belgian GP and Dutch GP finished, with Italian GP and Russian GP reaching an end by the end of September 2021. So, four races should give enough data for developers to update the driver stats in the game.
F1 2021 is now available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC. This is the very first F1 entry after the acquisition of Codemasters by Electronic Arts.
