Our fellow journalists at Twinfinite recently published an interview with Keisuke Kikuchi, the producer of the upcoming Fairy Tail RPG by Gust. In the interview, Kikuchi revealed certain pieces of information we didn't get to hear about yet. Most notably concerning possible future sequels and ports.

As you probably know, Gust's Atelier series currently always works with trilogies. As such, Keisuke Kikuchi was asked if they are planning to launch sequels for Fairy Tail as well. Kikuchi answered they would definitely love to do sequels if the first Fairy Tail game performs well.

Koei Tecmo currently announced Fairy Tail for PC, PS4, and Switch. In Twinfinite's interview, Kikuchi mentioned they are aware of the demand for Xbox One. However, Gust isn't accustomed to Microsoft's console. As such Kikuchi simply answered they acknowledge the Xbox One demand, and "take it very seriously".

Kikuchi also mentioned how the Fairy Tail RPG won't feature original characters, and focus on the existing characters already known and beloved by fans. Gust already confirmed that while Fairy Tail adapts parts of the manga, original scenes will be added.

Fairy Tail will be using a turn-based battle system. It'll also include a friendship system, a quest system, and its main story will take around 30 hours to beat. You can read more details regarding that here. You can also check Fairy Tail's first trailer and information.

At Tokyo Game Show 2019, Koei Tecmo stated Fairy Tail is at a 50% development rate. Fairy Tail is scheduled to launch in 2020. Koei Tecmo will publish further information in October.
