Today during the Dengeki PlayStation Live #008 live stream, a very unexpected surprise announcement was made: A collaboration project was announced between Nihon Falcom and Aquaplus.

The teaser briefly showed Nihon Falcom's president Toshihiro Kondo and Aquaplus' president Naoya Shimokawa discussing together. What they discuss, and any further details remains a mystery however. The discussion between the two was muted, and  more details will be published on September 20th at Tokyo Game Show 2018.

The teaser also showed The Legend of Heroes: Sen no Kiseki hero Rean together with Utawarerumono Zan hero Haku. This implies the project might be a crossover project between the two popular franchises.

Seeing the announcement was made on Dengeki PlayStation, the collaboration project should appear on PlayStation consoles. Both Nihon Falcom and Aquaplus are veterans of the JRPGs genre, so whatever they bring to the table together will definitely turn out interesting.

Nihon Falcom's The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV: The End of Saga is scheduled to release in Japan on September 27th, exclusively on PS4.

Aquaplus's Utawarerumono Zan will also release in Japan on September 27th, on PS4 exclusively.
