Fall Guys and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Join PS Plus Lineup for August
Fall Guys will launch on PS4 for free to PS Plus subscribers while the remastered iteration of Modern Warfare 2 also joins the slate for next month.
With July now wrapping up, PlayStation has today unveiled the new titles that will be available for free to PS Plus subscribers in August, and it’s one of the best months that the service has had in quite some time.
Hot off the heels of its beta this past weekend, Devolver Digital’s Fall Guys has now been confirmed to be launching next week for free to PS Plus subscribers. The game, which is perhaps the silliest and most purely enjoyable take on the last-man-standing genre so far, is set to release next week on August 4. The day of its launch, it will already be free to download, which is great to see.
PS Plus has seen the launch of other games in the past coincide with being free on PS Plus come day one. Perhaps the most successful title that has done this in the past is that of Rocket League. While Rocket League is a worldwide smash-hit at this point, releasing for free via PS Plus definitely helped grow the game quite a bit out of the gate and proved to be one of the biggest reasons for why it found early popularity. Surely, Devolver is hoping the same for Fall Guys.
Secondly in August, Activision’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered is also hitting PlayStation Plus. The new iteration of the classic shooter only first released earlier this year, which means it has found its way over to the service relatively quickly. Best of all, you won’t have to wait for August to roll around to play MW2 either, as it will become available to download for free beginning tomorrow, July 28.
All in all, this is quite a strong month for PS Plus and I imagine many subscribers will be quite happy with the offerings. It’s always good to see brand new games coming to PlayStation Plus, and I for one am very excited to give Fall Guys a go next week.
