Fall Guys Isn’t Coming to Xbox Game Pass Despite Recent Rumblings

Publisher Devolver Digital was quick to stamp out the rumours.

Rumours began circulating yesterday that summer sensation Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout was coming to Xbox Game Pass. The gossip started when the official Xbox Game Pass Instagram account replied to a question about the crazy battle royale, stating that “it’s coming.”

Excitement began to build as a screenshot of the message was shared to Reddit (thanks ronbag) and then further around the internet. Unfortunately, however, the game’s publisher, Devolver Digital, stepped in to share some bad news.

Replying to a tweet from The Verge’s Tom Warren, Devolver Digital explained that the rumour was “incorrect” and that there are “no plans for Fall Guys to come to any form of Gamepass.” This implies that not only is the game not coming to Xbox Game Pass but also Game Pass for PC and mobile.

The game had a stellar start to life, which saw it become the most downloaded PS Plus title of all time and achieve over 11 million sales on Steam. However, its popularity has since seriously begun to wane and a release on Xbox (and Nintendo Switch) could be the refresh it needs.

The game is currently in its very chilly third season and has seen a range of new levels, costumes and obstacles added. Alongside the costumes from season three, Fall Guys has continued its tradition of crossovers with other popular titles. Most recently, from the Doom franchise, developers Mediatonic added Cacodemon, Cyberdemon and the Doom Slayer costumes into the game. Doom has followed the likes of Sonic the Hedgehog, Portal and My Friend Pedro into Fall Guys.

We scored the game a 9/10 in our official Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout review. Our reviewer Ricky Frech said of the title “Fall Guys is absolutely the game fans of shows like Takeshi’s CastleNinja Warrior, and It’s a Knockout have been dreaming about.”
