New Fallout 4: New Vegas Trailer Shows Memorable Locations and Lots of Guns

Rootin' tootin' and shootin' are the focus of the latest trailer for Fallout 4: New Vegas

Some of us just can’t let go of the feeling of exploring the Mojave. Fallout 4: New Vegas, a mod seeking to recreate the magic of Fallout: New Vegas using the updated engine of Fallout 4, has released a new trailer and it looks promising.

Released on the tenth birthday of Fallout: New Vegas, the trailer shows off an internal build of the game, although it looks better than it ever has before. We get a good look at some of the standout locations in the Mojave, starting with Quarry Junction, an abandoned mining quarry overrun with Deathclaws. We also get glimpses at the game’s starting town, Goodsprings, and the Vikki and Vance Casino in Primm, a town overrun by raiders the first time players come across it.

But Fallout games wouldn’t be the same without a wide sci-fi arsenal of weapons to blast mutated lizards and raiders with, and Fallout 4: New Vegas looks like it’s delivering in spades. The trailer goes on to showcase combat at some of these iconic locations with some of the game’s more recognizable weapons. Reworks of the 10mm pistol and 9mm submachine gun immediately evoke their classic styles in the original game, and the redone LAER laster rifle just looks like a blast. And fitting the theme, wild-west weaponry is still present in the game. Lever action rifles, shotguns and revolvers will all continue to be a part of players’ arsenals in Fallout 4: New Vegas.

Fallout 4: New Vegas has been in the works since 2017, with its first trailers dropping in 2018. Progress on it since then has continued at a steady, albeit slow pace. As a passion project, the team working on the game has had to balance revamping the post-apocalyptic Mojave Wasteland with day jobs and everyday life. While this trailer shows a fair amount of work has gone into the mod, there’s still no word on when it will be released for players.
