Details Surrounding Recall of Fallout 76 GameStop Helmet Clarified
More details and clarifications surrounding the Fallout 76 helmet that was sold by GameStop has come to light.
Yesterday I reported on news regarding a Fallout 76 themed GameStop exclusive helmet being recalled by the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission due to being a health risk to customers. More details have come to light today after receiving an email from the helmet manufacturer, Chronicle LLC.
Initially, as reported yesterday, I had gotten the helmet in question wrong which had prompted Bethesda to clarify. They confirmed that the helmets sold with the Fallout 76 Power Armor Edition were fine. However, Chronicle LLC got in touch with some facts about the products that were actually recalled and I want to clear up any confusion using this information.
The helmets that are part of the recall are the “Fallout 1:1 Power Armor Nuka Cola Helmets”. These helmets are red and have white-colored tubing on the sides. These helmets were sold exclusively through GameStop in June 2019. You can see what it looks like in the featured image above.
Despite the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission recall page stating that there are about 20,000 units, Chronicle LLC has confirmed that only 32 units were actually bought directly by consumers and then sold and shipped. Additionally, the customers who purchased these have been contacted and made aware.
The Fallout 76 Power Armor Edition helmets are grey with black tubing around the sides. These helmets were sold as part of Bethesda’s Power Armor Edition and are unaffected by the recall. So if you grabbed one of those at launch, feel free to pop that one on your head.
