Amongst the litany of details that Bethesda Game Studios' Todd Howard shared last month at E3 about Fallout 76, one of the more noteworthy pieces of info is that the game would at some point be hosting a beta. Or, as Howard referred to it, the Break-it Early Test Application -- B.E.T.A. for short.

Today, we have finally learned just when this B.E.T.A. for Fallout 76 will begin and it's not going to be until closer to launch. In a new post over on the official Fallout 76 forums, one of Bethesda's community admins revealed that the B.E.T.A. will begin in October.

The full statement from the forum post is as follows:

Popping in to say that it’s been very fun seeing everyone’s discussion on Fallout 76 and what your hopes and thoughts are about the game. I and members of the studio regularly lurk, and it’s been great to read through your questions and feedback. With that in mind, we know you’re anxious to learn more about the game and more specifically, about the B.E.T.A.

Starting in October we’ll be selecting people who have pre-ordered the game from a participating retailer to enter our B.E.T.A. We’ll start small and grow over time as we prepare for launch. Be sure you’veread our F.A.Q., for details on how to redeem your B.E.T.A. code and other important details.

The post went on to say that they're aware that fans still have questions upon questions about Fallout 76 and that the team at Bethesda Game Studios hopes to answer some of them next month at QuakeCon.

As mentioned, if you want to get in on the Fallout 76 B.E.T.A. for yourself, you'll have to pre-order the game. Currently, you can head over to Amazon to lock in a copy and hopefully ensure yourself a spot in the B.E.T.A. right now.

Fallout 76 is scheduled to release later this year on November 14 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
