Today, American developer Bethesda Game Studios announced it has opened up a brand-new office based out of Austin, Texas.

According to the press release, the new company joining the fold is BattleCry Studios, a subsidiary studio of ZeniMax Media. Founded in late-2012, BattleCry studios is lead by industry veteran and Studio Director Doug Mellencamp and serves as the occupation to a core team of veteran game developers with experience developing AAA titles. This marks the second office Bethesda has opened with the first office in Montreal, Quebec, Canada announced back in late-2015.

Although the developer has not released any games since its formation, the studio has assisted id Software with developing post-launch multiplayer content for the 2016 critically-acclaimed first-person shooter DOOM.  While the team's first game BattleCry was announced back in 2014, however, the game's official release date has yet to be determined due to the group pushing its development aside to focus their attention on other projects.

While Bethesda Game Studios was founded in 2001 as an in-house developer for Bethesda Softworks and is headquartered in Rockville, Maryland. Lead by executive producer Todd Howard; the studio has created a name for itself in this industry with its critically-acclaimed action role-playing franchises Fallout and The Elder Scrolls.
