Usually, when mods are removed, it's because Nintendo saw something online and decided to get all DMCA-happy. This time, the story is different, and genuinely much worse. The Frontier, a mod for Fallout: New Vegas that recently released after years in development has been removed from Nexus Mods.

The Frontier is a massive mod that essentially packs another game into the world of Fallout: New Vegas. Instead of being stuck in the sweltering heat of the Mojave desert, players travel to frozen-over Portland, Oregon. Besides adding new enemies and weapons to zap them with, The Frontier adds a ton of new content. The mod sports a new map that matches the Mojave wasteland and three main questlines, with one taking up to 35 hours to complete. However, the most notable difference between base Fallout: New Vegas and The Frontier is the addition of vehicles. Players will be able to cruise across Portland in armored cars, tanks, and even vertibirds. These vehicles are also available to the game's human enemies.

However, if you try to download The Frontier now, you'll be greeted with a message from the mod's creators instead. "Some deeply concerning news has emerged in the past few hours," reads the message. "We have recently been notified that one of our developers, ZuTheSkunk, has posted animated pedophilic content on their personal artist accounts. The items in question are deeply disturbing to the entire team, and we condemn them in the strongest sense."

The developer behind this content has been removed from the mod's development team and community Discord. However, development and support for the mod have halted to "address the current events properly." It is not clear when players will be able to download The Frontier again. The mod also has a Steam page but has not been made available there yet. Another way to play New Vegas is also in development in the form of Fallout 4: New Vegas.
