If you've ever wondered how far you'd go to provide for your family in the wake of a financial crisis, then Broken Bear Games' Family Man might be just what you've been looking for. There's a beta taking place this weekend that requires users to sign-up through the Discord in order to receive a key.

If you're interested in trying out Family Man, you'll have to jump onto the Discord server as detailed by the latest Steam post and apply for a code using the #beta-signup channel. Keys should be sent out on Friday.

Family Man is a first-person title that finds you taking the role of a man who has a family to care for and a debt owed to the mob. He travels to work to earn then when his shift is over he goes home to spend time with his wife and child, but everything changes one day when he gets fired.

You'll take control of Joe who has thirty days to pay back the money he owes to the mob, but it's up to you if you want to earn it honestly, such as flipping burgers as shown in the trailer below. Alternatively, you can earn more money by taking on more criminal jobs, but stand a chance at ruining your relationship with your family, and even the neighborhood. The choices you make will change how your own family see you and could potentially lead to the marriage breaking apart.

Family Man looks like a mash-up of Paint the Town Red, Minecraft, and Roblox and appears to be filled with many choices that can change the pacing of the game. You'll earn bonuses for helping and even hindering the characters throughout the world.

The trailer below was originally released in August of 2018 and introduces a low-down of the story as well as showing some of the choices that will be made available.

Publisher, No More Robots has also been behind Descenders, a fast-paced downhill biking game from RageSquid which is available on PC and Xbox One as an Xbox Game Preview title.

Family Man looks to be heading to PC sometime "early 2019".
