Fan Discovers Warzone's Cutscenes Fit Perfectly As Anime Opening

It's Call of Duty, but not quite as you know it!

November 22, 2021

Two things that you wouldn’t necessarily put together, Anime and Call of Duty, but ElvisCOD recently discovered that the two actually go hand in hand if you’ve got the right skillset.

To some, Warzone is just “drop-in, get the win, end of the game”, but there is actually an ongoing plot that has been present ever since the release of Modern Warfare in 2019. The story is portrayed through cutscenes and cinematics, usually at the beginning and end of every season.

Warzone’s story has even been seamlessly integrated with Black Ops Cold War and is set to continue with Season One of Vanguard on December 8th. But whilst we’re in the middle of some downtime between the end of Cold War and the beginning of Vanguard, ElvisCOD used the time to create an anime-themed opening with some of the various Warzone and Cold War cinematics, and the result will blow your mind.

Call of Duty Fan Creates Stunning Warzone and Cold War Anime Opening

ElvisCOD, who is well known for leaking Call of Duty content such as new Operators, Calling Cards, and more, recently released a short 1-minute clip of various Warzone and Black Ops Cold War cutscenes in the style of an anime opening.

The clip received some high praise from fans, with some calling it “perfection” and another stating “this is 10/10”. Many wouldn’t expect the two styles to go together, but when you combine the fast-paced music often used in anime shows, it fits perfectly with Warzone’s intense cinematics.

Fans can check out the clip below, courtesy of ElvisCOD, who said that they had the idea to create the opening for some months, and has finally gotten round to creating it. We’re thankful that they did get round to it as it’s pretty epic, and kind of makes us wish an anime Call of Duty existed.
