Super Smash Bros. has long been well known for taking the iconic characters of Nintendo franchises and having them duke it out on classic battlefields and stages from multiple games – but what if it were the favorite characters and places from the games of Valve, instead?

A new fan-made video by YouTube user CrazyHalo, “Super Smash Bros. Source,” takes that idea and runs with it – to an amazing degree, in fact. Taking the original intro movie from Super Smash Bros. Melee and recreating it virtually frame by frame, the video replaces Nintendo characters with memorable faces from a variety of Valve’s franchises, including Half-LifeLeft 4 DeadPortalTeam Fortress 2, Dota 2, and a few other surprises thrown in as well.
