Far Cry 3 Vaas Actor Teases Reprising the Character in the Future
Far Cry fans are given a little bit of hope that the franchise favorite villain will make his return sometime down the line.
Michael Mando, best known as Vaas from Far Cry 3 in the video game space, brought up the possibility of a return to the character in the future. During a Reddit AMA, the actor currently on the hit TV show Better Call Saul was asked a variety of questions including his role as the iconic villain and whether or not we will see him in any future entry of the Far Cry series.
“Thank you so much! Vaas is my spirit animal,” said Mando. “…having co-created that character is something that will always be dear to me. I still get recognized as Vaas, and I still feel the outpouring of love for that character – makes me very happy. Who knows… maybe I will reprise the role very soon? :p Thank you for watching xo”
Far Cry 3 originally released in November of 2012 and since then has skyrocketed the franchise into mainstream games with a big part of that being due to Mando’s performance as Vaas. The game also received a remaster called Far Cry 3: Classic Edition back in 2018. The question on the mind of Far Cry fans is how Vaas would return. For those that are unfamiliar with the beloved game, the psychological villain meets his end partway through the story. That being said that doesn’t mean there couldn’t be a game that takes place prior to the events of Far Cry 3. The IP is also known for doing weird directions with Far Cry titles and spinoffs like Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon for example. It is also completely plausible that Mando was being a bit tongue and cheek with his statement and there is nothing currently in the works. There is really no telling as of right now.
I would love to see the return of Vaas in one way or another, but as of right now all we can do is go back and play Far Cry 3.
