Today, Ubisoft Montreal's creative director, Alex Hutchinson, announced via Twitter that he has left Ubisoft after serving with the company for seven years. Known for his contribution to titles such as Far Cry 4 and Assassin's Creed 3, Hutchinson departs to form a new studio/company called Typhoon Studios.According to his LinkedIn page, Hutchinson left in February, but only publicly announced the departure today.

At the moment, there is zero information -- beyond a website with a measly contact form -- on Typhoon studios or what they are working on. Further, little is known about the studios size/intended size, but Hutchinson does mention in another tweet that he formed the studio, which will be based out of Montreal, with Reid Schneider, a former executive producer at Warner Bros. and EA.

Hutchinson has been involved in gaming development since 2002. Before working at Ubisoft, he worked at EA and served as a lead designer on titles such as Spore.Â
