Far Cry 4 Developers Head to the Himalayas for an Education in Ritual Sacrifice and Khukuri Blades

Partnering with VICE, a couple of Ubisoft devs head to Nepal to get a first hand look at the region that inspired Kryat in Far Cry 4.

First the devs witness a ritual sacrifice of a goat then speak to some Gurkas. The Gurkas are an elite special forces unit that appear in Far Cry 4. The team gets an idea of the type of personality of the kind of man who wields a Khukuri blade.

In only the first of a three-part series we can already see that it was not what Narrative Director Mark Thompson and Production Manager Philippe Fournier were expecting.
