Publisher Ubisoft has several major game releases on the horizon that are worth looking forward to, including the upcoming launches of Assassin's Creed Valhalla and Watch Dogs: Legion. With the company's upcoming Ubisoft Forward presentation this weekend, we'll also likely get a look at several unannounced games in the mix, and based on new rumors and leaks, Far Cry 6 seems to be among them.New details about Far Cry 6 have made their way online after an apparent leak through the Hong Kong PlayStation Store, where a listing for the game was live on the digital marketplace (but has since been taken down). While the game was rumored previously this year (including details last week that it stars Breaking Bad's Giancarlo Esposito), the PlayStation Store has more explicitly confirmed what we can expect from the game. The PlayStation Store Hong Kong listing confirmed that Far Cry 6 will feature Breaking Bad's Giancarlo Esposito as the main villain (as seen in the key art above), and appears to be set in a fictionalized version of Cuba. According to the listing, the game will take place in the country of Yara and will have players taking on the role of a freedom fighter named Dani Rojas. The game's description revealed that Esposito will play Anton Castillo, the dictator of Yara that is seeking to strengthen his hold on the country alongside his son Diego, causing a revolution to break out among its people.Alongside the plot and character details for the game, the PlayStation Store leak also confirmed that the game will be arriving early next year. The Hong Kong store listing detailed that the game will be released on February 18, 2021, though it's unclear whether the release date may differ in other territories. However, Ubisoft has said before that it has several other titles in line to release this fiscal year (which ends March 31, 2021), so Far Cry 6 would likely be among them. The release date also falls in line with previous entries in the series, as Far Cry 5, Far Cry: New Dawn, and Far Cry Primal all launched in a similar timeframe in late winter/early spring. The listing also confirmed that Far Cry 6 will come to next-gen consoles, as the PlayStation Store detailed that players that pick up the PS4 version of the game will have the ability to get a free upgrade for PS5. Presumably, Far Cry 6 would most likely support Smart Delivery and allow Xbox One owners to upgrade to the Xbox Series X version of the game for free, but we'll have to wait and see for official word from either Ubisoft or Microsoft on what that entails. No official confirmation on Far Cry 6 has arrived yet from Ubisoft on the game, but given what we've learned about Far Cry 6 before and coming from the PlayStation Store, it seems likely that these details on the game are accurate. Also, with the current proximity to Ubisoft Forward this weekend, it makes sense that perhaps the listing went up a little earlier than anticipated. Thankfully, if the game is being shown at Ubisoft Forward on Sunday, we won't have to wait much longer to learn more about it.Far Cry 6 is reportedly launching on February 18, 2021, and at the moment is confirmed to be arriving for PS4 and PS5. Stay tuned for more information on the game as news develops.[UPDATE: Ubisoft has released an official teaser for Far Cry 6 featuring Giancarlo Esposito, confirming that we'll hear more about the game this Sunday at Ubisoft Forward.]
