It seems as though Ubisoft will also be participating in tomorrow's 2018 edition of The Game Awards and they'll be bringing a new Far Cry related announcement with them.Just a few moments ago, the publisher released a new teaser trailer for what seems to be a new Far Cry game entirely. The trailer showcases a nuclear bomb going off near what looks like the location of Montana that was seen in Far Cry 5. After the world burns following the nuke's detonation, we see a character holding a crossbow that seems to use buzzsaws as ammunition. All in all, this basically seems to be a post-apocalyptic version of Far Cry 5, likely in the same setting. It's worth noting that none of the branding or wording in this trailer specifically mentions Far Cry 5. Because of this, it seems likely that whatever this new game is for will be an entirely separate experience rather than just DLC for FC5. Plus, The Game Awards' Geoff Keighley basically confirmed as much in a response to someone on Twitter.

So yeah, a Far Cry spin-off or perhaps sequel seems to be on the horizon. Even though I didn't really love Far Cry 5, I'm down for another game in the series that doesn't take itself as seriously, kind of like with Blood Dragon.

If you want to see the new teaser Ubisoft released, you can find it below. We'll report more on this new project when it is formally revealed at The Game Awards tomorrow night.
