Today, during PlayStation China’s press conference in Shanghai, Sony and Perfect World Entertainment announced the PS4 port of Farside.

Farside¬†was originally announced as a mobile battle royale game, but apparently, it’s coming for PS4 as well, even if we don’t know whether¬†it’ll launch in the west or it’ll remain confined to the Chinese market.

You’re probably going to be very familiar with the mechanics of the game, which are based on the tried and true concept of dropping onto the map, then moving towards the center while killing everything that moves as the arena shrinks down to keep things moving.

Vehicles are of course included, alongside firearms featuring semi-realistic recoil and bullet drop. There is even a skill system to progress your character.

Farside is developed by Dark Horse Game Studio. We’ll have to stand by and see if this will come west, even if the Battle Royale market is probably starting to feel a little cramped around here (but I’m not sure if the situation in China is any better, mind you).

You can check out a cinematic trailer below.
