Our journalist comrades at Nintendo Everything recently spoke with Keisuke Kikuchi, the series producer of Fatal Frame at Koei Tecmo. Kikuchi most notably told Nintendo Everything he'd like to make a new Fatal Frame on Switch. He noted how the Switch's portability would make for a fun experience, letting the players move their Switch around as if waving the in-game Camera Obscura.

Keisuke Kikuchi: “Yeah, I do want to make a Fatal Frame on Switch. I think it’d be a ton of fun to play with the console in handheld mode and moving all around."

Kikuchi also mentioned he often has new ideas for Deception, another series at Koei Tecmo.

If you don't know about it, Fatal Frame is a series of survival horror games. The series features female protagonists who must survive among evil spirits and unravel the truth behind everything to avoid some bad endings. The girls' main way of defense is the Camera Obscura, a special camera that can exorcise spirits.

Fatal Frame is the North American name of the series, and it's known as Zero in Japan and Project Zero in Europe. Maybe you've heard of it under those names instead.

Back in 2018, Koei Tecmo also mentioned how Fatal Frame is one of their most important IPs.

The Fatal Frame series started on PS2 in 2001, and had multiple sequels and adaptations since, such as manga, novels, movies, and horror-themed real-life attractions. The last game in the series is Fatal Frame Maiden of Black Water, first released in 2014 on Wii U. You can check the game's very first trailer below if you're interested.

This is just a guess, but before making a brand new game, Koei Tecmo will probably port Fatal Frame Maiden of Black Water to Switch first.
