Fate/Grand Order's Busty Buddhist Monk Xuanzang Sanzang Goes West

The latest Fate/Grand Order event sends players on a Journey to the West with new Caster servant Xuanzang Sanzang, coming May 31, 2018.

Fate/Grand Order’s developer Aniplex says “it’s time for some more slightly inaccurate Heroic Servants!” in the form of its latest The Journey to the West-inspired event. Even better, was see an introduction to a new character: Xuanzang Sanzang. She was revealed in a trailer showcasing her moves and Noble Phantasm just recently, which you can watch below.

Some of you may recognize the name Xuanzang in reference to the famous Buddhist monk who traveled seventeen years on land from China to India; his journey would later inspire one of China’s most famous literary works, The Journey to the West, in which Xuanzang would be a principal character. Note how I said “his” journey, not hers.

Yes, Xuanzang was a man, but the Nasuverse in which the Fate games take place has a long and interesting history of gender-bending famous historical figures, including perhaps most famously King Arthur(ia). Xuanzang has a history of being portrayed as or by women in some historical Chinese plays, though, so I guess it gets a pass.

New event character Xuanzang Sanzang, who is gifted with ample assets, will be jiggling into the fray during the Go West! event from May 31, 2018 to June 6, 2018. It has been hinted that she may be later joined by Sha Wujing and Zhu Bajie based on the event description. Xuanzang Sanzang is a 5-star SSR Caster Servant with the tagline, “Sandalwood Merit Buddha Girl! So long as I have Buddha’s protection, I’m sure it’ll be okay!” According to her stats on the event homepage, she has a Max Attack of 11658 and Max HP of 12965, giving her one of the highest attack values of any Caster yet available.

Fate/Grand Order is a mobile game available for both iOS and Android featuring turn-based combat and Heroic Servants in the form of historical figures that sometimes gain breasts where once there were none. Check out the announcement trailer below:
