Nintendo took to the Gamescom stage today and gave fans over 30 minutes of must-watch The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening footage. The gameplay session covered a few interesting areas of the upcoming game and is well worth a full watch. You can check it out below in its entirety.

The team at Nintendo really went in-depth with this one. It felt very much like a Treehouse stream from E3. They showed off a number of new areas and gave some insight into a few big features. We got an extended look at the new Chamber Dungeons. These are dungeons you can build out for yourself using dungeon blocks you unlock as beat story dungeons. The dungeon builder seems pretty intuitive and will make it clear when certain blocks don't fit together. The mode seems a bit light on content, but it's easy to see them blowing this out in the future and making a true Zelda Maker.

The demo also saw the team enter the Angler's Tunnel. Inside, they met up with one of the game's mini-bosses. This boss is a cute, little crab-like creature that you must jump over and hit from behind. What's interesting about this and other bosses in the game is that you can put them in Chamber Dungeons and fight them again. Because the dungeons can be played with all your items, you'll be able to fight bosses with an arsenal that wouldn't be available to you in the main story. I could easily see people getting really into speed-running all the bosses in this mode.

The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening will release for Nintendo Switch on September 20.
