FFFUUUUU: VVVVVV Gets Epic Update, Poised to Take Over My Life

on July 27, 2011 6:30 PM

While the announcement and release of the Humble Indie Bundle 3 was a pretty awesome big deal in and of itself, developer Terry Cavanaugh has added even more incentive for everyone to go and purchase the bundle by updating his hard-as-balls platformer VVVVVV.

VVVVVV version 2.0 adds a level editor to the game, along with a whopping ten new worlds for you to explore and fail miserably at. All ten worlds have been designed by various other independent developers, including Robson, Jonathan Whiting, and of course, Notch.

As someone who rolled through VVVVVV in five hours and something like 1238 deaths, I’m simultaneously enthused and frustrated by this news. So long social life; I’m platforming tonight! Purchase the Humble Indie Bundle 3 here.

Allen is an utter whore of a gamer; he's completely open-minded to all games, be they AAA blockbusters or $5 casual children's games. His focus is on indie games specifically, valuing gameplay and ingenuity over sparkly visuals and ridiculous gimmicks. When he's not geeking out over the newest art game, he's out toning his sexy, sculpted shoulders while surfing epic 1.5ft waves, or having a good time with local, high-gravity microbrews.
