FFXIII Gets a Sequel. No, Really

For the third time ever, Square-Enix is releasing a direct sequel to a main entry in their never ending Final Fantasy franchise, with Final Fantasy XIII-2. You know your game lineup is out of control when your numbered games have numbered sequels. When you already have roman numerals and you need to add “regular” numbers onto them, it might be time to re-evaluate your series.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 will be created by the same team that created the original game; Director Motomu Toriyama and Producer Yoshinori Kitase. Thirteen-Two will be released in Japan before the end of this year, with no current word on when it will see release in other territories.

UPDATE: Square-Enix USA and Europe has stated that FFXIII-2 would release in their respective territories “next winter”.

He's a huge comic nerd in the best sense of the term, with a particular love for the Creator Owned movement.
