FFXIV's Free Trial Period Extended Once More

Square-Enix, in an unusual display of generosity and confidence in the upcoming patches they have in store for Final Fantasy XIV, once again today extended the free trial period of fans of the title that have stuck with them through these rough launch weeks. The trial period is extended yet another 30 days. This would give those who purchased the game a full three months of free game play – that’s a quarter of a year, folks. Square-Enix is taking a huge monetary hit here because they’re confident in their product. Frankly, even though I personally have been a bit disillusioned with Square-Enix as of late, this completely restores my confidence because they are acknowledging that they appreciate their fans and are doing everything they can to rectify the issues with their latest MMO. I’m quite impressed.

For more details on the extension and who is eligible (hint: anyone who hasn’t had their account cancelled because of user agreement infractions and who created at least one character before November 19th), check out the information their Lodestone site.
