Latest FIFA 20 Trailer Provides a Look at How Player Ratings are Determined

FIFA 20 player rating reveals are an annual tradition for EA. This year, the team is handling them a bit differently.

In past year’s, EA has slowly dripped out player ratings in the weeks leading up to release. This season is going to be a little different. In a new trailer that shows off the ratings “Bunker”, it was announced that we will know the ratings for the world’s top 100 players (as rated by FIFA) on Monday. The trailer featuring Kaka, Raheem Sterling, and Joao Felix is a fun watch. Check it out below.

While we don’t know the actual ratings yet, we do know which players will make up the top 100. The usual suspects like Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, and Neymar are obviously there, but there are a few new additions. Most notably might be Gianluigi Donnarumma, who has been an often-signed career mode wunderkind for the last few years. Of course, with new players climbing the ladder, a few of the old guard are bound to be left out. Players like Diego Costa, Gareth Bale, and Mesut Ozil find themselves on the outside looking in.

If you’re looking for club bragging rights, it pays to be a Real Madrid fan. They boast 12 players in the top 100, with Barcelona and Manchester City sitting right behind them with 10. Juventus (known as Piemonte Calcio in FIFA due to licensing agreements) and Paris Saint-Germain round out the top five.  For country rankings, Brazil and Spain each lay claims to 13 players in the top 100, while the defending World Cup Champions in France “only” have 11. Surprisingly after last night’s result against Mexico, the US doesn’t have anybody. I’m sure they just made a mistake.

FIFA 20 is out for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One on September 27. Check back Monday when the player ratings are revealed.
