Today marks the kick-off of FUT's third season in FIFA 21. That means a brand new battle pass for players to work through. As always, the pass is full of new cosmetics and tons of packs. However, the big-ticket items continue to be the storyline players you unlock at level 15 and 30. And, for my fellow Americans out there, the end of the Season 3 battle pass has a boosted version of one of the best young players from the States.

Heading into level 15, you'll earn a ton of wintery themed cosmetics. Essentially, you need to decide whether you like Vikings or polar bears more. And, of course, you'll grab a solid selection of lower-value packs. Then, once you hit the midway point of the pass, you'll have a choice between three players.

For my money, I think Fiorentina's Alfred Duncan is the man to go for here. He looks like a sick CDM for anyone wanting to run a budget Serie A team. Plus, he could be a solid sub off the bench. It is kind of lame that the Serie A just had Andres Tello in the last battle pass. Tello is more attacking oriented, but I'd like a little more variability in the selections.

As far as the other players, Sada Thioub is a decent shout if you didn't do the Kenny Lala SBC and need a Ligue 1 right-winger. And Bakambu is a good striker with some decent links from the Chinese League.

From there, you'll have another 15 levels to work through. Here, the packs get a little better and I'd be lying if I said I won't be rocking that Snowman pitch trophy you unlock at level 21. That said, the true prize is in the level 30 players.

I say this with an incredible level of bias, but anyone who doesn't pick Christian Pulisic is a crazy person. I mean, yes, I'm partially saying that because he's an American, but what a card. With a Deadeye chem style, he becomes an absolute animal both on the wing and at CAM. Usually, the level 30 cards are boring because, by the time you unlock them, they're so far behind the power curve. That's still true with Pulisic, but I'll be using him for quite a while.

That said, I can totally understand why someone would look to pick up Emerson. He plays in a position of need in La Liga and he does it very well. Alex Moreno is the closest comparison, but Emerson is better and only costs you time. Plea is the least exciting option. The Bundesliga already has several attacking options up top, so it's harder to see where he fits in.

All told, it's a decent enough season pass for FIFA 21. EA is never going to give top-end cards through the pass, so it all comes down to player selection. Again, I'm very biased because I love having Pulisic included. However, it's worth noting that Emerson is also a solid option. That's 2/3 for me, which is much better than usual.

FIFA 21 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. Today is a great time to start playing as there is tons of new stuff to do with Season 3 kicking off alongside the start of a new promo.
