FIFA 21 — Headliners Team Two is Full of Top Players

FIFA 21 continues its Headliners promo with a brand new team in packs. Players like Karim Benzema, Erling Braut Haaland, and Heung Min Son headline.

The Headliners promo in FIFA 21 is in its second week. If you haven’t been following, the promo brings live cards to the game that upgrade with every performance-based card a player receives. Plus, if their team wins four domestic games in a row, they get an extra bump. Essentially, it’s like a more valuable One To Watch card. And, EA Sports has brought the juice for the second team. I’m going to spend way too much money.

We’ll start with the La Liga players as that’s where the highest-rated card comes from. Spanish league fans can pick up both Karim Benzema and Diego Carlos. Benzema isn’t exactly the definition of a “meta striker”, but that card will almost assuredly get a boost considering he plays for Real Madrid. Diego Carlos, on the other hand, is both an incredible center back and has important links. It’s hard to say where his price will settle, but it won’t be cheap.

Moving on, the Premier League has two players in packs and one in SBCs. Heung Min Son will cost a fortune, but he’s probably worth it. The man is incredibly lethal, and I think he’s good for at least one upgrade, if not several. Danny Ings is the other player in packs. He’s going to be more affordable but is a nice option for players looking for an English striker that won’t break the bank. And then there’s Riyad Mahrez in SBCs. It’s a good card, but as someone who doesn’t run a Prem side, I won’t be completing it at that asking price.

Speaking of leagues I use, the Serie A has gotten a few absolute units. Milan’s Theo Hernandez and Napoli’s Hirving Lozano have been on a tear this year. I don’t know how I’m going to afford them, but I need those cards in my squad ASAP.

Over in the Bundesliga, fans can get either Erling Braut Haaland, Leon Goretzka, or Dayot Upamecano. All three players are great options, though it’s worth noting that Haaland’s card is technically worse than his Player of the Month version that’s in SBCs for nine more days. Obviously, the hope is that his Headliner upgrades a few times, but it’s worth considering. Otherwise, I’d be more than happy to have any of these three in my squad.

Finally, Ligue 1 has both Rafinha and Karl Toko-Ekambi. Neither player is likely to set the world on fire, but Rafinha plays for PSG, so he’ll probably get the four games won boost. Personally, I would’ve liked to see James Tavernier take one of these spots. He’s been destroying the Scottish Premiership and more than deserves a Headliners card. Hopefully, they add him into SBCs over the next week.

FIFA 21 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. Headliners Team Two is in packs until next Friday. Around then, I expect Team of the Year to kick off.
