FIFA 21 players have been struggling to connect to the servers and play online matches due to a new strange error. The FIFA 21 DLC assets update 1 error keeps appearing on the screen and causes the game to crash inevitably.

We are not far away from the official announcement of the next FIFA title, but the current game still has some serious technical issues. Lately, Electronic Arts deployed a title update for FIFA 21, but it seems the update has caused a bigger issue rather than solving some.

Thanks to its highly popular Ultimate Team mode, FIFA 21 always has a huge online community, which makes every disconnecting error a disaster for them.

FIFA 21 DLC Assets Update 1 Damaged

According to the latest reports from the online FIFA 21 players across all platforms, when they try to sign in to their account inside the game, they face an error indicating that "DLC Assets Update 1 appears to be damaged and cannot be used."

Pressing the Retry option doesn't seem to have any impact as the error message keeps reappearing on the screen. Thus far, Electronic Arts Sports has not launched any hotfix or update for the issue, and players are simply stuck in the connection menu.

For now, there's no permanent method to get rid of this error but the suggestions below might help you to get past the error:

  • Try to hit the cancel button as many times as you can to finally bypass the error. For some players, this has apparently worked after a number of tries.
  • If the game crashes after hitting Retry, try to enter the game offline and then become online when you are inside the menu.

FIFA 21 is now available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC.
