Fight Breast Cancer with Bandai Namco and the Ms. Pac-Man Pink Ribbon Campaign

October 1, 2014

Bandai Namco announced today that it has partnered with the National Breast Cancer Foundation to create the Ms. Pac-Man Pink Ribbon campaign.

The Ms. Pac-Man Pink Ribbon campaign adds new $0.99 exclusive maze to Bandai Namco’s variety of Pac-Man related mobile games, with all the proceeds being donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Additionally, during the month of October all of the games will be skinned in a pink ribbon theme to create awareness of breast cancer.

“While video games often bring amusement and joy to our lives, this is a chance to bring hope as well,” said Bandai Namco Mobile senior producer Ben Acevedo in an official statement. “Breast cancer has directly affected my immediate family and it’s a fantastic opportunity for gamers and the industry to get involved. While the mazes we are offering in October are fun, the real challenge is to raise awareness and get players, producers, artists, programmers across the mobile industry to join us and Join the Pac.”

“We are very excited about our new partnership with Bandai Namco and the Ms. PAC-MAN Pink Ribbon Campaign,” said NBCF Founder, Janelle Hail. “By encouraging their gamers to Join the Pac, we can reach more women than ever with our message of hope. The funds they raise will allow us to provide early detection services for women in need in all 50 states.”

It’s really awesome to see a publisher raising awareness for a cause like breast cancer, especially considering it is the second leading cause of cancer related deaths among women in the United States. Considering we’ve had so much controversy and negativity in our little industry over the past few months, it’s refreshing to see positive energy being put forth for something good. I’ll surely throw down a George Washinton or two to show my support, and you can too by checking out the full list of games that are part of the Ms. Pac-Man Pink Ribbon campaign below.
