Katy Perry is coming to Final Fantasy. Yeah, you read that right, the pop star is coming as a playable character in Final Fantasy Brave Exvius. This all was announced through a music video starring Katy Perry as she performed the song "Immortal Fire".

The music video starts off with several text messages telling the singer to get ready for her performance. She then does several "livestreams" of her and her dog with random Brave Exvius gameplay stitched in between. The video wraps up with Katy Perry performing on a staircase with a crystal over her head.

At the end we see the announcement that Katy Perry will share her likeness within the mobile, starting December 12. This announcement clearly indicates more to come with this collaboration between the pop star and Final Fantasy. It also reminds me of the Ariana Grande collaboration from last year. I guess Square Enix went "thank u, next" and decided to incorporate another pop star into Final Fantasy Brave Exvius.

Though I'm not a huge fan of Katy Perry, this collaboration could give the already successful mobile game some more momentum going into 2019. Either way, this video sure was unexpected and I'm curious to see what comes of this. If this Katy Perry music video didn't give you that JRPG bop you were looking for, no need to worry. The legend herself, Utada Hikaru, recently revealed her upcoming song with Skrillex in the new teaser for Kingdom Hearts III.
