Final Fantasy: NHK Fan Poll Results Revealed

Final Fantasy: NHK Fan Poll Results Revealed

NHK organized a Final Fantasy series fan poll ranking the games, characters, bosses, summons, music, and published the results via a TV show.

NHK, Japan’s national broadcasting organization, organized a fan popularity poll for the Final Fantasy series. This isn’t the first time NHK organizes such a huge popularity poll, and before Final Fantasy, a similar poll was organized for the Gundam franchise back in 2018. The NHK Final Fantasy poll lasted from December 20, 2019, to February 11, 2020, and fans could vote on a special page NHK opened up for the occasion. Note that non-Japanese Final Fantasy fans could easily vote in NHK’s poll, as it wasn’t region-locked or anything. 468,654 votes were gathered in total. Temporary results were published back in January, and the final results were published via a prestigious TV show that aired on February 29. The show featured many Japanese personalities fan of Final Fantasy, including:

  • Takanori Nishikawa (T.M. Revolution)
  • Susumu Imadachi (Comedian)
  • Michiko Tanaka (Fashion Model, Actress)
  • Ayana Tsubaki (Talent, Event Host, and MC)
  • Kenichi Maeyamada (Hyadain)
  • Sayawaka (Writer, Critic)
