As 2018 draws to a close and heads into a new and fresh 2019, what's a better way to commemorate another fantastic year of gaming than to pop open a glorious looking Final Fantasy bottle of sake? It sure as hell beats another box of wine brought by the mother-in-law as she has one too many and believes she's Beyonce, that's for sure.

Over on the mag.Japaaan website, The Fukui-based brewery have partnered together with Square Enix to produce some good old sake that consists of Yamada Nishiki, apparently the best type of rice for great tasting sake. The brewery ages their superior sake in the same fashion that wine is processed and with a polishing ratio of 40 percent, giving it a more harmonious taste.

Artist Yoshitaka Amano, who any Final Fantasy fan will know, completed the label art that is known as the “black dragon”. After you've drunk it all, of course, this would look amazing as a centerpiece in any place of the home to show-off to your family and friends. Even if you're not a Final Fantasy fan, the artwork alone really is a talking point and beautifully crafted.

The Final Fantasy sake will go on sale on January 29 in Japan and it’s priced at 5,400 yen (around $47.81)
