Final Fantasy Type-0 Western Localization Confirmed (UPDATED)

Final Fantasy Type-0 has been a thing on everyone’s mind lately (well, before the Skyrim rush) – will it be localized or won’t it be? Typically speaking, a Final Fantasy game gets a localization announcement before it launches in Japan, and this one saw no such announcement. Fans were rightly worried. Fear not, however, as SquareEnix has not disappointed in this regard.

In an interview with Spanish gaming site, producer Yoshinori Kitase said, when asked specifically about Type-0, “We’re currently working on the North American and European versions which you will know of very soon.”

That, as they say, is that. The PSP will still be getting some love come 2012 and the year of the Vita. So, who’s with me in playing some great PSP games on their Vita instead of, you know, actual Vita games?

UPDATE: edited the original interview, showing a complete U-turn and specifying that the part about Type-0 was incorrect. No official world is available about a Western Localization at the moment (Editor’s note: my soul is bleeding right now).
