Final Fantasy VII Remake’s Aerith and Tifa Receive Lovely New Free Avatars and Wallpapers

Square Enix released two new wallpaper and avatar sets for Aerith and Tifa to celebrate the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake.

Square Enix has released a brand new wallpaper and avatar set for Final Fantasy VII Remake‘s Aerith Gainsborough, a flower seller living in the slums who has the power to hear the planet’s voice. And just a while before that we also received a similar new set for Tifa Lockheart, a fierce martial artist and member of the eco-terrorist group AVALANCHE:

There are wallpapers for both desktop computers and mobile phones and the avatars work for a variety of uses, so feel free to customize your devices to your hearts content.

Previously released wallpaper and avatar sets include one for protagonist Cloud and Barrett Wallace, which can be downloaded here. There’s also more official art that depicts an iconic Tifa moment as she reminisces about the promise Cloud made to here when they were children. If you want to see other art from the upcoming game, be sure to check out the Shinra building. If you’re more keen to focus on Tifa, the trailer she was revealed in and some screenshots featuring her may be more up your alley. If you just want to know how the remake plays, you should read both of our previews from E3 2018.

During The Game Awards Final Fantasy VII Remake received a brand new trailer featuring Cloud Strife, showing off new cutscenes and gameplay giving those new to the acclaimed JRPG more information about the titular hero. As previously revealed, Final Fantasy VII Remake has many new elements to it and Scenarist Kazushige Nojima even explains how he rewrote Cloud for the remake. We recently translated comments from Nojima about how Final Fantasy VII influenced Final Fantasy VIII. We also translated the short film made to promote the remake. Square Enix is currently working on the second and possibly last episode.

Final Fantasy VII Remake launches on March 3, 2020 on PS4 as a one year timed exclusive, which you can purchase here. Meanwhile any charges for the collector’s edition have been pushed back to January so those who preorder the set will have extra time to pony up the money.
