Final Fantasy VII: The Web Series Begins Kickstarter Campaign

Final Fantasy VII: The Web Series is an unofficial fan project that has been in the making for over a year, and it is just now that the producers have decided to ask its fans for help in getting it off the ground entirely in their first Kickstarter campaign. The Web Series will encompass the entire saga of Final Fantasy VII over the course of more than one season, totaling five to six episodes per season at a running time of around 15 minutes each; making each season around 80-90 minutes of content.

Below is a list of the principal members of the crew:

Director – Gionata Medeot

  • Experienced as a Director, Visual Effects Specialist, and Editor.

Writer – Xander Williams

  • Author of “The Jenova Project.”

Production Manager/Producer – Daniel Purcell

Action Director/Producer – James Mark

  • Veteran Performer and Martial Artist
  • Co-founder of YouTube’s “Team 2X.”

The team has reached out to Square Enix and has reportedly received the company’s blessing for this project. As of July 23rd, 2013, they have received nearly $6,000 of their $400,00 goal, across 150 backers, with 29 days left in the campaign. They will be posting stretch goals and updates on the project and its funding soon.
