Every day when I log onto Twitter, I never know what to expect. Sometimes I find out about news and world events, other times people are posting job listings, but it's very hard for me to scroll through my timeline and not find a work of video game fan art. As of late, there has been a lot of Hades representation as well as some stuff for Scott Pilgrim, but this morning I came across

" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Twitter user @picantemami posted her rendition of what Shrek the ogre would look like dressed as Cloud Strife and how his wife Fiona would look if she found her way into Tifa and Aerith's closets. The drawings are really detailed and, honestly, very convincing. So convincing that it almost looks like a piece of abandoned concept art for Final Fantasy VII: Remake.

FFVII: Remake obviously was well received, but imagine the absolute uproar had there been a Shrek and Fiona mode. As someone points out in the comments of the original fan art post, by having Shrek as Cloud and Fiona as Tifa and Aerith, the implication is that somewhere out there is an image of Lord Farquaad as Sephiroth. At this point, the ball is in @picantemami's court and all I can do is wait.

While this may be @picantemami's first time making Final Fantasy x Shrek fan art, she has been making quite a lot of art surrounding the many characters from Hades. You can find more of her work on her Twitter account right here, or you can support her art directly through ko-fi.com right here.

There has been a ton of great video game fan art making the rounds on Twitter as of late. If you're looking for more from Hades check out this article on an artist who reimagined the game's characters wearing techwear designs.
