The latest issue of Famitsu has more information on Final Fantasy XIII-2's incarnation of the  beloved and iconic Chocobo. Chocobos are everywhere in this game and are featured more prominently than they were in the game's predecessor.

For one thing, Chocobos can join your party and fight on your side, making use of the previously announced Feral Link feature. You can also race Chocobos in the game's casino, ironically-titled Serendipity. As with every other Final Fantasy game, the player's party can ride Chocobos in the field by bribing them with gysahl greens, making them immune to enemies while they are mounted.

Gysahl greens can be purchased from a time-traveling merchant dressed like a chocobo. This girl's name is Chocolina, and she is Final Fantasy XIII-2's answer to Final Fantasy X's O'aka. Chocolina sells items, weapons, accessories, and monster training items, and will offer bargains on certain items at times.

Famitsu has also revealed the appearance of a mischievous red chocobo, who may or may not have his own side story or quest. If perchance you're a chocobo hater with no soul, you can make him go away by tossing a few gysahl greens.
