Final Fantasy XIV 2.5 Update Download Now Available on PS4, PS3 and PC; Brings Tons of New Content

If you want to be ready to play Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn as soon as the ultra-long twelve hour maintenance ends at 3 AM PST, you might want to kickstart that launcher, as the patch is currently available for download on all platforms even if the servers are still down.

The PC version of the patch weighs 1202.66 megabytes, while the PS4 version is a bit lighter, stopping just short of the gigabyte at 980.30 megabytes.

The new patch will bring a new chapter of the main storyline, steering towards the epic ending of the 2.0 arc. It’ll also include new quests (including a new one of the Hildebrand saga), three new dungeons, a new raid (the World of Darkness), the battle against Odin a new Frontlines PvP mode, updates to free companies, new hairstyles, new equipment and a lot more.

Unfortunately we won’t get to see the real face of Yugiri (who belongs to the Au Ra race that will become playable with the Heavensward expansion later this spring) until Part 2 in March, but be ready for a few climatic moments in the story. Personally, I can’t wait.

You can read the full patch notes here. Bring coffee along, because it’ll take you a while.
