Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Producer Letter Shows Guldhests, Teases New Beta Phase

on March 19, 2013 2:17 PM

Today Final Fantasy XIV Director and Producer Naoki Yoshida posted a new update on the official forums of the game, giving us some info on what is to come and on how the beta is going.

100,000 testers are already playing the game, and that’s an unexpectedly big number for an early beta, even counting the automatic inclusion of legacy players, showing that the team definitely wants to expose the game to as many testers as possible.

This created congestion during initial login and in starting areas, but also allowed for a quick resolution of those problems that didn’t surface during the alpha.

There will be another beta weekend for phase 1, then phase 2 will start in early April bringing gamepad controls to the game. The beginning of phase 2 will also bring in more testers to stress the servers further, and a new Letter from the Producer Live videocast.

The post also include three screenshots of the Guildhest feature, that will be introduced with phase 3. You can check them out below.
