Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn PS3 Collector’s Edition Sold Out on Most US Retailers

From what we can see by the massive number of beta registrations Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn has generated quite some hype, but how is it actually selling? While no numbers have been released (and none will be for a while) ¬†at least the PS3 Collector’s Edition seems to be selling very well.

The rather hefty package is now sold out on most major retailers in the United states with almost two months to go before release. This includes GameStop, Amazon and Square Enix’s own online stores. If you want one and you still didn’t preorder it you may want to try your luck with smaller retailers, and you may also want to hurry.

It’s always a good thing when a new MMORPG hits the ground running, but of course we’ll have to see how things will continue. The Pay to Play MMORPG market is in desperate need of a success story to rekindle the flame. Will Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn be the one?
